In the members area, you will find the concrete formula I came up with. It is both online and in a downloadable spreadsheet format. Anything else you find in the members area - consider to be a BONUS. There are detailed pictures of the workbench and glass caddy that I made for Sue along with instructions on how to make your own accelerator out of a product you can purchase at Wal-Mart or many other stores. Also, there are some comments, test results, and pictures of my test that I performed using acrylic concrete fortifier. You will be very interested to know the results so that you can decide for yourself whether you want to add this ingredient to your concrete mix. Even more bonuses, I have made up a sheet of some common mold sizes and their volumes. By clicking on the mold size, it shows you how much ingredients you will need to fill that mold. You should be able to print this off and refer to it when you are making your stones. I also have online,  step by step instructions (with photos and comments) on how to build the glass cutting system that I designed and built. It is not an easy project and I give you warning of that up front.

I am hoping that you will understand that this is a continuing work. I started this project after my wife (Sue) first started making stained glass stepping stones. As many of you have found out, making stained glass stepping stones is fun and rewarding. Once you make one, you are "hooked!"  And as you may have already noticed, that if you are using commercially available concrete mixes designed for this purpose, it can be expensive!

Sue was using a product called DiamondCrete®. I personally have nothing against this product and in fact if you like it and cost is no object, there is no reason not to use it. I think it is an extremely well formulated product. She enjoyed making her first stepping stone so much that she could think of many more that she wanted to make for friends and other family members.

That's where I came in. I am not the stained glass artisan (as she) but once I took an interest in her work, I could see that there were some things I might be of some help to her with. Being more of a technically oriented person and having some general skills in woodworking, mechanics, and the like - I decided to see if I could help her out some by building her a workbench, glass cart, glass cutting system, tool holder, some jigs, etc. AND I wanted to see if I could come up with a concrete recipe that would allow her to keep the look, feel, and strength of the product she was using for her stepping stones.

What you will find in the "members area" is the result of my endeavors to lend a hand to my wife. It STILL goes on. I have lots of information  - some published - some in the process of publishing - and some still in the "more ideas" file. I have been working on getting this information categorized and in a web format for almost two years now!  Show your interest and support in this type of information by buying the recipe and enjoy the bonuses that come with it.

Look at the price this way. The recipe is $9.95 - the membership is a bonus and lasts for 3 months or until I abandon the project completely due to lack of interest. (Special limited time offer - get both the membership PLUS the online eCourse - How To Make Stained Glass Stepping Stones" for only $5.95).So show your support of this project and purchase the recipe now.

Hopefully you will see a lot of things added in the time allotted for your membership, but remember that this is only a bonus of buying the recipe and not a commodity that you have the right to demand completion of. I work on the area in my spare time and I hope you understand that you will see a lot of things in the area that you will get no response from when you click on them because these are things that are yet to be completed. The basic structure of the area is complete but the information in those areas may be hit and miss. Enjoy what is there and be patient for more to come. Feel free to suggest what you would like to see completed but please don't be demanding. The recipe is there and it works great.

The recipe is both online and in a downloadable spreadsheet format that will work on MS Excel, MS Works, or Lotus. The spreadsheet will not only tell you the measure of ingredients for any amount of cups needed, but will also calculate the weight of the stone and the approximate cost! Some ingredients in the recipe may be hard to find. The accelerator, for instance, can not be found at most places that sell packaged cement. You can find it in a liquid state at most "redi-mix" plants and they will usually be kind enough to sell you some if you have a container to put it in. I discovered how to make my very own by purchasing a product at my local Wal-Mart store. How I did this alone is also worth money but this is one of the BONUSES that is now in the members area.

There is also a FORUM inside the members area so that members can converse with other members. Since this area is brand new it is relatively empty at this time. Once you have your membership, please contribute your special knowledge to the project and help other members.
